Warren Sapp, former NFL defensive tackle, is the latest sad chapter in professional athletes going bankrupt. Mr. Sapp had a distinguished career with the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While he was great getting to the quarterback, it seems he didn't learn how to protect his money. He owes over $6.7 million according to his bankruptcy. His $6.45 million in assets includes 240 pairs of Michael Jordan Nikes. Used tennies won't bring much for his creditors. He had already lost his 2002 Super Bowl ring and 1991 college National Title ring. Sad.
Many of today's professional athletes make great sums in their relatively short careers. Unfortunately, few have much left a few years after their careers end. If you know a professional or future professional athlete, please help us help them be as much of a success after their career as they are on the playing field. They will appreciate the introduction.
